Founded in Florence in 1221, Santa Maria Novella hosted its first-ever event in the United States in honor of L’IRIS, its first-ever Eau de Parfum. An eclectic mix of New York artists, entrepreneurs, designers and public figures were welcomed to the Harlem Parish – the perfect location to bring a feeling of history and wonder to the occasion. Guests ascended to the mezzanine level of the Parish, which was transformed into a fragrance laboratory. Using the ingredients that make up the precious L’IRIS, each person was invited to create their own signature scent with the help of experienced “Noses” from Santa Maria Novella’s Florentine workshop. Everyone received a personalized glass flacon at the end of the evening containing their own unique perfume. Dnner was held in the two-story atrium of the historic Parish while a Mezzo Soprano performed a selection of Italian opera classics.
